20 Feet Away and Helpless>>Ah Ha Moment

Woosh!!   What was that!?? I look up from doing the dishes and my heart stops, eyes widen! If I yell "stop", because I can't reach him in time, it might startle him, causing him to slam the patio door.  It was the first time Jack had opened the patio door. Not a second later I had my eyes on him, analysed him, left hand propping him up on the frame of the door, fingers just out of the opening, right hand pressed to the glass to slide the door. It became clear he won't get his fingers caught between the glass door and the frame.  He immediately closed the door without incident.  Now the sliding door was locked in addition to the screen. Of course I sat down just after the scare and started scouring the internet for something to block the door from closing all the way. All the solutions I found had to be bolted to the door, and most needed to be set manually to block the door from shutting.  10 minutes later I had an odd looking, but working solution to the problem. This was the start of what's been the long and challenging journey of my start of of LIVSafe to make make simple, convenient and secure child proofing products.
